Each month I will write a letter to one of my three daughters
this is my 1st letter to my children....
I will start with my middle daughter only because 50% of the time you start with the oldest and the other 50% of the time you start with the youngest...so where does that leave the middle child?
EXACTLY.....
March 2014
Dear Izabelle Autumn,
You are 17 years old now and every day you remind me you have one year left. One year left for me to hug you every morning, one year left for me to tuck you in at night.
My heart hurts thinking about you leaving for college. Only because I know you have that sprit of adventure inside you just like I had at your age, and I know where it will take you....far, far away from me.
I feel full of happiness and sadness at the same time when I stop and think about this, or every time you remind me, which is quite often ;)
Your days are filled with Hockey, something you only just discovered you love. I love watching you play. Your force and energy on the ice is amazing. You have grown into a real leader playing this sport.
You are so independent now, with your license and your car. Making friends with girls in different towns, that was so taboo only a few years ago.
With your big sister gone and your new sister recently born, you have taken a new role in the house. You are a wonderful babysitter, Sophia really loves the goofy time you have together. You are always telling me to leave the two of you alone, you are having sister time.
You are doing a great job keeping on top of all your school work, which isn't easy Jr year.
I am sorry I am not always around when you are, it seems most days that our schedules are opposite. But when we do have some time together my face hurts from laughing so much.
You are a huge help with your little sister, she has a special smile just for you.
You are a girl who feels things deeply and I love that about you. Someone that everyone confides in, because you are a great listener and never judge. You have been such a solid presence in my life ever since your birth, which was by far my favorite birth ;). It is a symbol of who you are, strong and hard but so gentle and calm when you are with someone else.
You have started thinking about yourself and doing things because they make you happy, I am glad you have found the balance for some "you time" in your life. Instead of always worrying that someone feelings would get hurt if you didn't do exactly what they wanted when they wanted you to do it.
I know that you are stressed about everything that you have to do each day, but I want you to know you are doing a GREAT JOB!
love you-MOM
